AACES Swim Club

The mission of the program is to guide, nurture, and grow competitive swimmers.

This program is for competitive swimmers (currently on a swim team, or striving to make a swim team) who have knowledge of the four competitive strokes; freestyHand of Cards spelling out AACES le, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly. This program will involve a mix of training groups, with some days devoted exclusively to training, some days dedicated to technique work, and some days with a mixture of both.

For the 2023 season, we will have three coaches coming to us, from different experiences.

Katherine Wagner

Hello!  My name is Coach Wagner and I am so excited to be spending the summer outside at the pool coaching a great group of athletes!  I started competitively swimming when I was 7 and haven’t stopped since!  In high school I won the “Most Improved Athlete” award and then went on to break three collegiate records.  Along with swimming, I also played water polo and I compete in Ironman triathlons.  My goal for the summer is that everyone would work hard, but also have an incredibly fun time - getting faster, making friends, and of course, playing some of my favorite games!

Bronwyn White has been a swim instructor at the Minneapolis Club for six years. She has previously worked at the YMCA and the Anoka Aquatic Center as a swim instructor and Lifeguard.
Bronwyn has been a digital portrait and wedding photographer for 5 years. She also dabbles in 35mm and medium format film photography.
Bronwyn love to travel. Her favorite places to explore are Colorado, San Francisco, and the North Shore. The next place she will be traveling to explore is Hawaii.

Ben Urbaniak has 14 years of competitive swimming experience at the club, high school, and collegiate levels. He has assisted coaching before with the AACES program, as well as, the Anoka High School Boys team when needed.
Ben enjoys time outdoors hiking, backpacking, and swimming, and he is pursuing a career as a Park Ranger.

The goal is to provide, as much one-on-one coaching as possible, and management will add coaches as registration demands. Program fees below are inclusive of pool time, staffing, and gear needed.

Practice will occur Monday – Thursday from 7:00 am – 9:00 am for those competitive swimmers ages 14 - 18, and from 7:30 am - 9:00 am for those ages 10-13. Practice will still take place in the rain. If there is lightning, swimmers will not be in the water, but rather will watch stroke videos and discuss technique indoors.
