 Winter Activities Update

The Cedars at Green Haven are open for play! Grab a friend and enjoy a round!

Skating Rinks and Sledding Hill
The pools of water on the ice rinks reminds us that we are exactly 100 days away from the Anoka Aquatic Center's opening day. But that also means the ice rinks are not fairing well. Due to the ice melting and warmer forecast, the warming houses and ice rinks will be closed for the season.

Thank you to all of those that joined us to make it a great outdoor rink season!

Watch for weather related updates on the City of Anoka Facebook page .

City of Anoka is doing a ice skate (hockey or figure) collection. All collected skates will be sharpened and then housed at Rick Sorenson's Warming house when open. These skates will be free to use for the public.

If you'd like to donate skates, there will be collection boxes at Anoka City Hall in the lower level during open hours. You can also donate your skates at any warming house location, once the season begins.

With any questions, please contact Nickie Jenks, Recreation Manager njenks@ci.anoka.mn.us

The City welcomed our new groomer in the winter of 2022! This groomer will be grooming trails at the Anoka Nature Preserve and Green Haven Golf Course. The trails will be groomed for the Disc Golf course, as well, at Green haven!

Green Haven Golf Course and Event Center has skate skiing and double track classic touring trails available during the winter months. A multi-use trail, to be shared by skiers, hikers, and snowshoers, is available at the Anoka Nature Preserve.

Snowshoe & Hike

The Parks and Rec Department has purchased several pairs of Youth size (kids weighing up to 100 pounds) and Junior size (teens/adults weighing 100 to 150 pounds) snowshoes for people to try out at Rudy Johnson Park and George Enloe Park Warming House. Snowshoe kits include walking poles for stability while learning.

Kits can be checked out from the rink attendant during warming house hours. Parent/guardian must sign a waiver and must supervise use. Snowshoes are currently available for day use only.

If you own your own snowshoes feel free to blaze your own trail at any city park.
